October 2008

Early October

We had some storms bypass us but their peripheral winds knocked some coconuts out of the trees.  Kristian helped to clean up the coconuts while Kevin removed the hurricane shutters from the windows.  We are thankful for the willingness of the students to help and also for God's grace in sending the storms away from us.

Edgar celebrated his 5th birthday!

Edgar, Criss and Mizael enjoy some time printing and drawing as we work on fine motor skills.

October 23 we visited Dr. Suarez in his lab at UPR in Humacao.  WOW.  We had a ball with this chemist.
Between changing the color of some liquids by blowing and melting styrofoam and messing with frozen ballons and being encased in bubbles, we were astounded!
Thanks Dr. Suarez for the fun day and the inspiration.

October 27 we enjoyed a day with Trix Bruce and her sidekick A.J.

They enthralled us... until some of us were literally overwhelmed and had to tune out as you see with Mizael here.

Trix encouraged our teens to do better and to be all that they can be.  They were inspired by her presentation and will continue to remember her words.
