September 2009

A big THANK YOU from Larimar to her prayer supporter who sent along a gift. If you would like to pray specifically for a student or staff person, please let us know ( esdluquillo@gmail.com ) and we will set up a regular e-mail list for you to pray for.

We declared September 18 to be MOHAWK DAY and everyone got to a new DO on their head.
Ok, the boys have been sporting them already so we just helped them along with some colored gels and then decorated the girls as well.

How exciting to have a sign language class from UPR - Ponce visit us.  The students shared their majors with our older students and everyone hung out and enjoyed getting to know new things. The accounting student got to count with our little mathematicians!

September 24 we went to the beach as a parting activity with Criss (the left-most child in both pictures below) who left us in a move to Buffalo.

September 30 we had four students participate in an island-wide oratorical competition.
James won  first place with former ESD student Rebeca Leonard taking second :-)
Each of the age appropriate ESD students participated
and experienced the challenge of public speaking/signing.
